We will examine the steps taken over the past 30 years to help our communities combat fire at the urban interface and what steps are being taken going forward. Further, we will discuss the impacts wildfire and smoke are having on the Central Oregon economy. Whose responsibility is fire protection in our neighborhoods? How do we develop new housing and remodel in fire safe ways?

This is the first in a two-part series with The Bulletin to examine our region’s adaptability and resilience to a changing climate. The Bulletin will produce a series of articles on the topic prior to the City Club forum. Following the forum, we will host several Solutions Workshops on the topic to take the discussion further.
