The Workforce Housing Initiative, a key effort by the Chamber since 2021, has highlighted that the median home price in Bend has surged to over $750,000, a price point that is increasingly prohibitive for many who work within the city. This has resulted in a significant portion of the workforce, including those employed in essential sectors such as healthcare and education, being priced out of the local housing market.
With the generous support of foundations and grantmaking organizations, including Go West Foundation, Maybelle Clark MacDonald Foundation and Wells Fargo Charitable Foundation, the Chamber has succeeded in education, advocacy and community investments to address this pressing issue. Philanthropic support is essential to the success of this initiative, and the Chamber is grateful to our partners for their investment in the work.
