At a time when healthcare organizations are often under a bigger microscope than ever by their employees, Shriners Children’s has been named the top Midsized Employer for 2025 by Forbes and Statistica Inc.
“We are proud that our employees feel so great about working for Shriners Children’s,” said Dereesa Reid, MBA, Shriners Children’s Portland hospital administrator. “We also know that being a mission-driven organization supports our staff in putting our patients first. We are fortunate to attract a talented workforce that are committed to the best pediatric orthopedic care for all kids and teens. We are delighted to receive this ranking from Forbes.”
This is the third time Shriners Children’s has been recognized in this Forbes ranking. Shriners Children’s was 12th among mid-sized employers last year, out of 3,000 companies and 176,000 employees surveyed.
This year Forbes and Statistica surveyed 217,000 employees who work at companies with more than 1,000 employees, and they ranked 498 midsized employers. Midsized is defined as having between 1,000-5,000 employees.
“Our employees go above and beyond daily and make incredible contributions improving children’s lives by their passion, commitment to excellence and pursuit of new and innovative technologies in healthcare,” added Kathy Dean, vice president for human resources. “We are extremely proud of this recognition, which highlights our talented and dedicated workforce. Thank you, Shriners Children’s, for achieving this recognition!”
