Earlier this summer, the Bend Chamber signed on to the opposition campaign to defeat Measure 118. With a month remaining until the election the campaign the Defeat the Costly Tax on Sales campaign released its first TV spot on September 27, initiating its statewide advertising program. The spot features a testimonial from Joel Kelly, an organic food grower and small business owner in Milwaukie, who describes the negative effects the $6.8 billion tax on sales would have on small business owners in Oregon. Watch the ad here.
To help spread the message, please visit the campaign’s action center here to share social media posts, upload a video telling your story, request campaign materials and more. And if you haven’t yet signed on to the campaign, please visit the website to join over 500 businesses across the state opposing the measure.
If your business would like a yard sign, window poster, bumper sticker or other materials please contact Sara Odendahl, sara@bendchamber.org as the Bend Chamber is a distribution center for Central Oregon businesses.
