Webfoot Home Improvements is pleased to announce the winner of its annual community initiative, Project Serious: Nonprofit Edition. Petersen Rock Garden, a cherished local landmark between Bend and Redmond, has been selected to receive $20,000 in essential renovation services as part of this year’s initiative.

Founded in 1935 by Danish immigrant Rasmus Petersen, Petersen Rock Garden is a testament to creativity and craftsmanship, featuring intricate miniature buildings, bridges, and sculptures meticulously crafted from rocks collected within an 85-mile radius. This unique folk art environment reflects Petersen’s Scandinavian heritage and deep admiration for his adopted country.

“We are thrilled to support this iconic site with our Project Serious: Nonprofit Edition,” says Gavin Hepp, co-owner of Webfoot Home Improvements. “Our goal is to rejuvenate the museum and gift shop, ensuring they continue to serve as cultural landmarks for our community.”

The revitalization project will include comprehensive interior renovations, enhancing the visitor experience and preserving the garden’s historical legacy. This initiative underscores Webfoot’s commitment to preserving local heritage and supporting community landmarks through sustainable restoration efforts.

“We are deeply grateful to Webfoot Home Improvements for their generous contribution,” says a spokesperson for Petersen Rock Garden. “This support will enable us to enhance our facilities, attract more visitors, and continue Rasmus Petersen’s legacy of creativity and cultural preservation.”

Webfoot Home Improvements extends heartfelt thanks to the Central Oregon community for their enthusiastic participation—through nominations, voting, and spreading the word. This initiative thrives because of the community’s support, and we remain deeply committed to giving back to the place we call home. From preserving local landmarks to helping neighbors in need, we’re proud to stand alongside the people and organizations that make Central Oregon such a special place.
